Seal Pup Elite -- Finish and Sheath questions

I saw one today for the first time. The one I looked at was black and had an almost shiny look. Well, I am one of those rare people who LOVE a high gloss black finish on a knife. Is there a particular finish or coating that would be the closest to being "gloss or semi gloss"?

Is there an after market, or a factory option to have a Kydex or "Plastic" sheath kind of like the type on the new generation Ka Bars instead of the Cordura sheath I saw today? BTW I don't know if it is actually Cordura or not.

Thanks.

The blade is TiNi coated, I believe. It will scratch, but is still very nice as I don't like flashy blades.

As for the sheath, you can get the KYDEX or the nylon, but IMHO the Kydex is junk. I've read it will scratch the blade, and upon repeated use, will not hold the knife securely. When I got mine, I specifically asked for the nylon...but to each his own. Do a search, I believe you'll find most prefer the nylon to the Kydex...Some don't like the flap on the nylon sheath, me included, so I cut it off and burnished the edge. Almost like my Ontario Spec Plus sheath now...

I have a few of SOG's Kydex sheaths and like them. Never had a retention problem with any, sometimes they came to tight but I just followed SOG's sujestions for loosening the sheaths and that worked great. I also have some of the old nylon and leather sheaths and one new Nylon sheath along with Kydex. One knife has 2 or 3 sheaths. I used which ever I feel like it at the time. LOL. Thinking of getting a new style Kydex sheath for my Pentagon to go with it's leather sheath and the Nylon one.

The black bladed Seal Pup Elite is sweet!! I'm so tempted by that knife. But if I get that one I can't get the Team Leader when it comes out. What to do?

Either way (sheaths and coatings) you can't go wrong. :) Sweet knives all of them.
