I knew when I purchased this knife about 6 months ago that I should have gotten a Kydex sheath. What is done is done. I now want to order one online. 1st question is where is the best place/price to get one. 2nd question is, with a kydex sheath are these knives good to use as a dive knife. I do a good bit of diving and the dive knife I use now (not saying the name for argument sakes) sucks. I, unlike a lot of divers, like to have a good tip on my knife. I love the size, feel and weight of the Seal Pup Elite, I am just not sure about how it holds up in Salt Water. I would assume it would do great. Any input on both of these topics would be great. Thank you,

IIRC I read about somone who placed a seal pup in a bucket of salt water for a week straight and then took it out, cleaned it up and it was fine. I am sure it will work fine as a dive knife. When you are done just clean it w/ fresh water.

I ordered mine directly from SOG, it showed up fast, and was a perfect fit. I would agree that salt water has no ill effects on the seal, as long as you clean it afterwards, as stated above.

I have never seen a spec of rust on any of my sog knives. Even my oldest pup which has lots of the coating worn off, i have never seen rust on. On the sog website they to recommend using the marine tuff cloth or whatever it was, i bought a few of them, and wipe my blades w/it every couple months.. that could help.

Their kydex sheaths are pretty decent, just keep them clean, specs of grit/sand will put scratches on the coating of your blade.

Thanks for the replies. Sorry for the delay replying back. I will order my Sheath this week. Looking forward to using this knife hard.
