Seal Pup Elite mounted on Fishing Camelbak

Anyone else backpack into the wilds to fish? I fish some hidden Bass ponds in the foothills. I picked up this used Camelbak from an ex military friend and use it for all my fishing adventures. I mounted my SPE onto the Molle straps on the pack. I mounted it upside down for quick and easy access. Check it out, let know what y'all think.

Cool Beans! Nice knife you got there. I plan on backpacking into some small pounds up the canyon this summer and have been thinking about doing a little fishing while there. Will probably have a tigershark strapped to my leg, a machete and Filette knife on the pack.
 
Got 2 SPE's. One with nylon , the other kydex. The kydex works , but the nylon is a way better sheath , Imo. Very versatile mounting options. I actually see the kydex failing in long term use. I'll have to see. I think the nylon one will wear and get ratty looking but just keep on working.Holds the knife much more securely. The SPE has impressed me far more than anticipated. I like it very much. Tough as nails.:thumbup:

nice set-up. i have the same camelback pack and enjoy it alot for hunting and just horsing around in the mountains. only one thing that worries me. not sure i would add the extra risk of accidentally losing the knife by having it up-side-down on your pack. one wrong snag and you've lost your most important survival tool. IMHO, if i needed fast access to the knife i would be wearing it on my belt. no offense, just trying to be helpful. best of luck to you on your fishing. ------- Eric
 
That is a nice set up you have there. I hike to the fishing holes I use alot. Being in the military I have alot of different Camelbak products and I love them. They work great for hiking into the out of the way places. I wouldn't worry about the knife falling out. I carried a SPE upside down like that for a year long deployment and never had a problem.

The back of the sheath is MOLLE compatable. The pack has MOLLE straps on it.
