Seal Pup Elite Sheath

So I caved in and bought my first and only Taiwan made SOG. Because I live in a suburban area the only fixed blade "user" I could actually put to use would be a 4-5 inch blade on my hiking and fishing trips. Having read every post and review I could find, I decided on the Sea Pup Elite with the plain edge. I have to admit that this Elite model actually is an improvement in design (and steel for some) over my old Seki Seal Pup. The current 15% SOG discount helped push me over the edge.

I am now trying to see if there is any way I can modify my standard SOG Seal Pup/Seal Pup Elite Nylon Sheath so that I can clip it to my belt and remove it
easily for vertical wear, without having to pass my belt through the loop.
So far it seems as if the two holes on the top are too close together to work with
any of the attachments designed for the kydex sheaths.
Has anyone successfully made any modification like this?
Thanks.

Paracord and a carabiner.
If you're handy with leather, easy to make a snap on belt loop that attaches with chicago screws

I wanted something better looking than paracord and a carabiner. And I 'm not versed in working
with leather. However I am reasonably adept at using a drill and dremmel so I managed to work a
small tek-lok onto the SOG nylon sheath.

I myself use the molle compatible strap to attach to the belt. This is with the Seal Team that sees regular yard work use. There is a little wiggle room though. Your solution looks great Ken! Love the addition of the needle nose pliers!

And shoot, might as well include a pic of the Seal Team.

Brilliant modification, thanks for sharing.

I should mention that I looked at the holes in my Nylon Tsunami sheath and they line up
wit the Tek Lok. My suspicion is that all the "full size" SOG Nylon sheaths can accept a Tek
Lok belt clip without any modifications.

Good to know. Thanks Ken.

Thanks craytab. I originally planned to carry my SOG Powerlock in the sheath pocket as it fits
perfectly and looks great. But the added weight was such that I decided to carry the pliers, which
is what I use the most on the Powerlock multitool.
Weight of sheath with knife and Powertool 1lb 4oz.
Weight of sheath with knife and pliers 15 oz.

It's been about a month since I bought the SOG seal Pup Elite and it's been with me on 5 fishing trips.
The sheath system with the tek lok has worked out perfectly, allowing me to quickly remove the knife
when I have to get out of the car to pump gas on the way home. The size and weight, especially with the nylon sheath is ideal for a fixed blade to carry unobtrusively in a suburban environment under limited conditions. I did wonder if SOG would ever consider putting a usable pommel (for hammering) on this model, adding to it's versatility. Also wondered why that spine rasping doesn't exist right in front of the handle to
act as jimping for the thumb. I was under the impression that the larger Seal Team has that? As for actual tasks, most of the time it cut fishing line; fluorocarbon, Dacron braid and leadcore. Also cut nylon boat rope and didn't miss the serrations on my Seki Pup at all. Gutted some fish and to avoid getting the lanyard wet I stuck it in the sand.
Well there were obviously stones/gravel further down because later that night I noticed some slight rolling on
the edge of the belly. Well this bugged me to the point that I ended up reprofiling it to 20 degrees convex.
The end result now that it is considerably sharper than out of the box.
