Hey everyone,

I'm new to the forum, sorry if you guys have awnsered a question like this before. I bought a seal pup elite about a month ago. I really love it, great knife but I noticed that the last inch or so of the cutting edge at the tip end is off-center. It also looks to me that the grinds are asymmertical, is that the way it's supposed to be or a warranty issue? I'd hate to try to fix it and mess up the blade somehow if I could have sent it back for either another one or get this one fixed. Any advice is greatly appreciated, sorry for the long post.

I have a Seal Pup Elite and the grind is essentially perfect. So, I would say this is, in fact, a warranty issue. Depending on who you bought it from, you might be able to return it. If that is not an option, I would pursue the issue with SOG directly. I cannot provide any insight as to the best way to do that though. There are probably others here who can help you. Sorry about the problem.

I am assuming that you are referring to the sharpened edge of the knife. Please keep in mind that we work to make sure that they are even on both sides, however since the knives are hand sharpened there will be some variance from time time. You can send some pictures in to warranty@sogknives.com and have them look at it. Depending on the severity of the variance they will let you know.

You'll need to learn to sharpen a knife eventually if you plan on using them. Now is the best time.
