Im thinking of getting a Seal pup for everyday carry and for my tac gear. How is it? Anyone else here carry one? Thanks in advance!

If it helps any I got the seal2000(larger version) .......very tough knife and wont break the bank. I think though the 440 steel used in the pup if im not mistaken will be softer then the aus used in the larger versions. Welcome to the forums!

I have been looking at this knife for a long time. I went to the not so local knife store the other day and they had it for 90.00:grumpy: . Got so mad because all this time I thought it was 54.99:o . I don't really like the steel but then again, I don't really use my knives that much. I heard it has good corrosion resistance. Built like it's bigger brother which was chosen SEAL knife of 2000. Get it, enjoy it. Just my opinion.

If that doesn't suit you, why not try the Cold Steel SRK? Carbon V blade, kraton handles, and a black epoxy powder coat finish. Blade length is 6" so might not be suitable for EDC. Good luck and welcome to the forums!

You will get much better cutting performance, edge retetention and handle ergonomics with a Becker Crewman which is also cheaper. A Becker Companion would be a better choice for a slighter heavier version for more rugged prying / hacking work. A further step up would be a small blade from Swamp Rat Knifeworks, such as a Howling Rat or Bandicoot for about $20 more.
