Seal Pup without Handle

Does anyone have an idea of what the steel of the knife looks like without the polymer handle on the regular M37? I'm curious since I'm wondering if it would be a wise decision to, in short, destroy my handle leaving me with just the steel so that I can thin out my gear and rewrap the handle with paracord.

Is the Seal Pup still made in Seki Japan? If it is, it should be similar to the Seal 2000 pictured below

For those interested, this knife did not break under normal usage. It was the test subject in one of the tests at knifetests.com (noss4). It performed very well might I add :)

All of the SEAL and SEAL Pup knives will have a very similar handle design to the picture above. Thanks for posting that image.

Sog does some of the best hidden tangs out there, beefy with no stress risers.

I remember when I first saw that above picture, I said "Thats a great tang".

It is over molded on the handle. Basically the tang is inserted in a mold for the handle and then the Zytel is injected. The line you see is where the two halves of the mold come together.

I posted one somewhere before. I can't remember where it is though but it is somewhere in the SOG forum.
