Just curious how many of you out there own a SOG SEAL PUP......if so, is it just me, or do you find it to be an awesome wilderness and survival knife? Maybe it's just me, but mine seems to handle anything thrown at it, is very lightweight, etc.

Just looking for your pro's and con's

I have one and it is a great all around knife. I don't use it much anymore because I have others that are better designs for particular tasks. If I had to choose one of my knives to do everything in a survival situation, it would not be a bad choice.
 
I was given a plain edge SEAL Pup Elite for my birthday earlier this year. I had a chance to use it on one brief overnighter, and I must say it is a fine tool. I really like how it handles, and it is a great size. The sheath isn't too bad, either. I actually like it better than my SOG Team Leader. The SEAL Pup Elite will most likely accompany me if I go on any other adventures this year.
 
I've always thought they looked a nice knife but nowdays I'd rather get a nice custom knife from the makers on here, their knives are now such good value that I don't think I'll ever get another production knife !
 
I think they look sharp, …great grind lines.

I grew up using that style of knife in the woods and even though they may not represent the latest style in bushcraft tools they have always served me well.

My buddy has carried one for years in the woods.He really loves SOG knives and for him at least the seal pup works really well.
 
Thanks guys, I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one. I agree there are some great custom makers on here, with some great knives too. But for a production piece the PUP has performed well for me.
 
I have a seal pup also. It is an excellent all around knife. I found mine at a Dicks sporting goods store. I had a $15 off coupon and that made it very cheap. IMO it is a little lightweight for batonning. I think it would make a good cooking knife although.:D
