With the recent mention of the TiNi version of the Revolver, I am kind of interested in this over the new Pup.

1. Is the saw blade the same hardness as the knife blade on the other end?

2. Is the saw blade on the TiNi version also coated? It would be nice to have a wood saw with some kind of low-stick surface.

If it can be made with a different hardness on each end, what would everyone think about a similar knife with two knife blades, one hard and thin for skinning and the other softer and thicker for chopping and more abusive tasks?

The revolver looks like a very effective tool. I tould be great to put in pack for overnight trips. Would those in the know please explain to me what is stopping the saw from removing a couple of digits when you use the knife harder than for skinning?

Peter La, the Revolver blade is locked by a spring loaded steel pin located in the handle, it also has a hidden blade stop at the rear of the knife to keep the saw blade from moving down or out while the cutting blade is being used. Works the same way with either blade being used.

Peter,
Robbie knows nothing about the Revolver knife. Boy, give a guy a magazine article to read & he thinks he's an expert on it.
Let me explain it more clearly.

Been enjoying my two Revolvers for about a year now, love 'em. :D

Oops, I guess I missed the point here.

My boy has been an armorer for a SEAL team in the recent Gulf War conflict and did mention working on SEAL issued Smith & Wesson 686s.

I thought that was what this was about.

I should mention that our boy did two tours through the gulf, but has left the Navy.

He's working on re-enlisting in the National Guard as we speak. He wants to serve more, but wants to be in a land based force.

He's thinking that if he puts in his 20, then finds another federal agency to serve 20 with, that he can retire at 59 with a double Federal pension.

Gosh ! he has done very well, very good thinking on his part, guess after that much time he would like to have his feet on the ground as much as possible.

Still, give him our best wishes here, he sure deserves them :D
