I noticed that AG Russell was featuring the SEAL Revolver this week and wondered if this ment that they were actually shipping. Anyone handle one yet? What I really want is to see the "back" side to see how the locking mechinism works. :D

Thanks,

Scottsman,
From what I understand the Revolve4rs ARE shipping now. Whoever gets one first must post pics!:D

Okay, here's the skinny.:D

I just got back from the Mall and what a wonderfull trip it was. Went straight for the Cutlery Corner (Family owned knife shop) and asked the lovely lady there if she had any of the new SOG SEAL Revolvers in. As fate would have it, she did, but the shipment had just come in so the knives were not unpacked and didn't have a price tag yet.

But, she was nice enough to go in to the back and unpack one for me so I could dool over it. The fit and Finish on the one I saw was very good and the knife was extremely sharp;). Though, it was a little smaller than I had expected, but still, really nice!

The locking mech. is really neet and IIRC the blade only moves in one direction. One of the things I like about it is the fact that it is flush with the rest of the handle and the same texture/color so it blends well with the rest of the handle. I liked the saw blade. The teeth seem to be layed out really well and IMO, the steel isn't too thick or to thin. Just right. The main blade has a nice shape to it. as you can all tell from the pics that have been posted earlier, it is simmaler to the Seal knife. The grooves along the spine are a nice touch. They help add more versitility to the design. After handling this work of art for a few minutes, I've desided that it will definantly make a great Camp knife. As for the handle, it is comfortable. The finger grooves are very nice and help your hand grip the knife. Plus, you can also hold the knife in a varity of grips and the knife still remain comfortable.

The sheath is a lot different from the regulare SOG Kydex sheaths. The Snap on belt loop has been replaced with a more conventional belt loop that will fit up to a Military belt, or bigger. From the little I played with it, I was impressed. Deffinantly a step in the right direction.

I can't wait for Friday (payday) cause the SOG SEAL Revolver should be coming home with me.:D:D

Go Heber! Post us some pics - and don't wait for Sunday's roast, either...;) :D

Bobby, I'd love to accomidate you, but sadly I wasn't able to afford a Revolver this paycheck. But, a Field Pup wandered home with me and I just couldn't turn it away. :D hee hee hee.

Actually I was at the Mall after work checking out the REVOLVER and noticed that the store had a lot more SOGs in. So of course, I had ot check them out too;). They had a Field Pup in stock so I got to handle it for 5 minutes or so. Along with the Field Pup. I ended up buying the The Field Pup this time. Do to the fact that it has been on my "Knives to Buy" list longer and it was a little sharper. And when I sharper, I mean "SHARP" as in Scary "SOG" sharp.:D The REVOLVER was just sharp.;):p lol

You know what, I'll probably be kicking my self cause I wasn't able to get the REVOLVER too. he he he. Well, it's time to fix dinner and try out my new knife.:D

Isn't it a cutie? Definitely an under-rated knife.

Welcome Luvmysog. What SOGs do you have? You are right, these knives are really cool and should sell really well.:) Plus, the design is a good strong one.:D Just don't use it for prying. That's what the regulare SEALs are for.;)

Welcome to the SOG Forum!!! :D :D :D

I hear rumours that the first rainbow blinks are numbered, and that low numbers are available from SOG...;)

Has anyone else gotten the chance to handle the Revolver yet? Don't tell me that I'm the only one. IT would be a shame. The Revolver is sooo Cool!

Well the Revolver has made it to the seconds page (scratches) already. I second wildmahn's request that I wish one of you would get some picture of the back side and a more detailed review. My wife would kill me (probably with a SOG  ) if I bought one now however.:grumpy:

Scottsman, I might be able to get some pics of the back side. Will write a friend and see if he has some he would be willing to share.

Would you be safe from the wife if the Revolver was on loan?

It's more about having "too many" knives arround. You know the question: "Why do you need another knife. It looks just like the other one(s) you have.":D

Scottsman, I'd be more than happy to hold some knives for you if it would help with your wife. Just let me know when you have some boxed up and I'll send my address.;) hee hee hee:D

Okay. I did it. I'm the proud owner of a TiNi Revolver. I must say this is one of the more interesting knives I've come across. The saw blade is wicked. Guess I need to get one of those nylon sheaths everyone is raving about....

Eyeluvsogs, glad you like your new SEAL REVOLVER. I bet the TiNi looks really cool. The Nylon sheath is also really nice. My sheath is attached to my gun belt right now and ready for action.:D Go out and use the knife then tell us how it went.:D
