"SEAL TEAM 2" Spyderco police

I somehow aquired this years ago now. It's a police model but it appears to be parkerized, super smoothed up, and has "SEAL TEAM 2" logo on the handle.
I assume it was a specail run, can anyone tell me more?

I've heard that these were specially ordered by various Seal teams as awards, retirement gifts, etc... They're very collectible, the last few I've seen offered for sale were in the $200 range and up depending on the unit.

Try asking in the Spyperco forum, you might get a better response.

forum member jaxurman (were is he?? thought he was 'out') had sevaral spydies with DEA/SEAL/FBI/etc logos, all were either police or matriarch models IIRC, they were made up by individual units for either keepsakes or trophies, by spyderco, they are not all that uncommon, kinda rare though, IIRC they were selling for about $150, i almost swapped him something or another for a DEA matriarch, wish i woulda done it now.........i bet the pics are still in archives, look under username jaxurman if interested..............on the police models the logo was on handle, matriarchs it was on the blade, 1 side only.

Done some looking and found the "letter" that came with it, it's a John F. Jensen deal. Dated 10/15/1997, 1 of 14 were done. Pretty cool, glad I kept the letter.
