Hello all guys,

I have just got both of those awesome knives - the new SOG SEAL Team with Kydex sheath (S37-N) and SOG SEAL Pup Elite with Nylon sheath (E37-N) and therefore I have a question.

Is it just me with such feeling but little SEAL Pup Elite is somehow better manufactured and designed than it's bigger brother - the SEAL Team knife? I mean handle and blade treatment quality, general ergonomics etc. Who is the real flagship of SEAL family in SOG line?

Please share your opinions.

IMO you cannot compare the Seal Pup Elite and the Seal Team. They are 2 different knives. You would probably compare the Seal Pup Elite and the Seal Team Elite, or the Seal Pup and the Seal Knife.

The Seal Pup Elite is the improved and later version of the popular Seal Pup knife. Thicker blade and comes with a plain edge and grooves along the spine. A smaller version of the Seal Team Elite but having the same features and design (and steel).

But I reckon the real flagship of the SEAL family, would of course be the SOG Seal 2000 knife.

Well, I know that those knives are of different scale and size, but nevertheless it seems that SOG did a better job on the SEAL Pup Elite in terms of ergonomics. The knife sits better in the hand for cutting, slicing and other jobs of this kind. The weight of the SEAL Pup Elite is also distributed all along the whole length, while SEAL Team is heavier in the blade as it seems to me.
