Ran across the problem of sealing the white paper micarta I am using on a new drop point. Searches of the forum indicates most use super glue to seal. Otherwise without sealing it gets dirty real easy. On test pieces I didn't like using super glue and looked for another sealer type. I found that using Minwax Wood Hardner works perfect for the seal. It gives the paper micarta stability while at the same time gives the color just the right patena to appear as ivory. About three coats, complete drying before each coat and finally dressing down with 1500 wet grit. Just my 2 cents worth--Dan

I have had good luck with 100% tung oil on micarta. Non toxic and has a some what harder finish than waxes.

as Minwax Wood hardner is clear, I would guess any color of micarta would get benefit

Good to learn.
Thats the one problem I always have with Micarta, I never know when the final finish is done.

I sand with the highest grit sandpaper I own, but still, Im never sure, even after I buff the handle it still seems that there is someting I should put on top to coat and really shine,
