I just recieved my new Monolith from Sean Kendrick, and WOW !!!
This guy is awesome.... The fit and finish are TOP NOTCH !!!
The price was right, also... The blade is double-edged S30v and the handles are F-18 carbon fiber w/mosaic pins. The handle is super comfortable, and very easy to grip :)

I have always liked Sean's knives. This one looks like it is built like a tank and it also has great lines. I like that F18 carbon fiber.

Jeff
the finish on the blade looks a little rough, looks to be about a 220 grit,I would like to see a photo from the top to see how
thick the handle is.

Hi, Nathan !!! Most knifemakers are stepping away from hand-rubbing
S30v. I heard the new trend is to tumble finish them, in a tumbler.
Jim Hammond is making me a custom Flesheater, with 9" double-edged blade, that is going to be have a hand-rubbed satin finish.
I think that he said it was going to take 6 hours, to hand-rub the finish, and that one little screw-up, could add an hour( each little screw up ), to the job.
The handle is a lot thicker than it looks, but it is more eliptical than square, making it very, very easy to grip, because your fingers contact a larger area of the handle. The index finger cut-out also keeps the knife from slipping forward and backwards, when in use. :p

It is a vey nice looking knife.I have not had the pleasure of working with the S30V but I have a feeling I will be sooner or later
I Know everyone who has work it say it is a bear to finish.tumbling would make sence and also bead blasting with cemaic beads would make a nice finish.;)

Jeff, Glad you liked the Monolith enough to photo it. That carbon fiber is a bitch to get a decent pic of. :(
Nathan, the handle is 2 pieces of 1/4" c.f., and the blade is made fom 5/32" stock, to give you an idea of how thick the handle is. Jeff pretty much summed up the rest.

Sean
Very good looking knife, you have put some thought into the design
I also took a look at your other work, very nice and clean looking
.I just wish S30V would hand rub out good.I would love to try some but,I will stick with D2 for now until I get brave enough to try out The S30V.

sean, another nice one.

hopefully, will speak to you about the model 7 once I get my financial position sorted out. btw, I did get your letter on the design.

now, start working on folders! :p

cheers,

Been noticing your designs evolve in your ads in the knife mags and have always found your knives to appeal. Hope to see more regularly here. Jason.
