At this time, it's not coming back folks. It's not needed: you don't need to search all 30 forums for whatever you are looking for.

It's an unneccessary drain on the server and ties up a lot of RAM, so it's been disabled. Chances are you already know the general area where it could be, and I think you'd appreciate the search actually working, instead of it not working because you sent it searching all forums for a post you know is in the For Sale or HI or Spyderco forum.

But, I'm a reasonable man. If you guys want to search all forums, we can do so. Just convince me that it's absolutely neccessary to be able to search every forum.

Search all forums is useful when looking for all posts from a particular user.

But you're right. Usually I know that the message I want is in one of four or five forums. Perhaps the ability to search multiple forums in one search without searching them all would be a good compromise.

I just posted about this in the Suggestion Box forum before I saw this thread.

Ewok,

Thanks for the tip. That was exactly what I needed. Absence of the Search All Forums feature is not so bad now since I can search the user profile. Often I remember who wrote something, but I can't remember where. Maybe we can put Search All Forums in the regular search, but make it only applicable for the "User Name" search.

Well - I liked the chance to search all forums. When I heard of some knife I wanted to find as much info as possible.

Suggestion: would it be possible to search for example three forums at once??
Let's say I found new knife maker John. I would look into General,Custom and For sale forums...

Nobody would use it, they'd just select search all forums and if you are going to allow multiple selection, someone will select every forum, negating it's value.
