Search doesn't like the word bowie?

Hi everyone. Being a fellow knife lover, I joined up to find more info on my favorite knives and to keep up on trends and news.
The thing is, everytime I use the word bowie in search, it goes to "page can not be displayed".
I tried over 50 times, with bowie, and without, and in combination with brand names. Everytime I did not use the word bowie, it went into the search results. Everytime I did use bowie, I got the page can not be displayed.
Any ideas?

might be too many results displayed and the search is timing out before it can load all them. or maybe it hates david bowie and thinks you shouldn't be subject to seeing pics of him;)

Yes, the search engine doesn't work so well. I tried searching for Buck 110 and it just times out. I know the database is large but it shouldn't time out. I mean how else am I supposed to type the name of the knife?

In the case of "bowie" and of "Buck 110" it isn't that the database is large, it's that there are so many hits for these very common terms. The system overloads by finding too many to show you.

Try doing an advanced search and set a date limit on how far back you want to search. Like 2 weeks, 1 month, 3 months, etc. This wil cut down on the amount of matches the search finds.

I always use an advanced search and limit how far back I want to search. But just for the heck of it, I just tried it again using "Buck 110" and as far back as yesterday and it still timed out. I contribute to this forum with money. I would like to be able to use the search feature. If I can't search for a specific knife on a knife forum, doesn't that sort of defeat the purpose? Maybe there is some other problem right now.

Sulaco, I just did a search on Buck 110 limiting it to threads with at least 10 replies over the past 3 months on the Buck knives forum. I got a whole list of results.

You guys have got to read Quiet Storm's FAQ. The search feature works fine if you use it with some discrimination.
