Search for a member's profile page?

I was contacted by a member about a possible knife trade. Like with all trades I try to do a little background check on the person. So I went to advanced search and searched for his user name but nothing came up? This makes me think he must be a new user that has not posted yet.

Is there a way to find a user's profile page so I can at least see when they joined?

Considering their user name has an actual name in it and they signed the email with a different name and they have no posts makes me a little leery. Plus the fact he low balled me pretty bad.... I just talked myself out of a trade but I would still like to know how to do it.

If he hasn't posted here and isn't giving you a name you can use to find a track record (profile, posting history) then about all you can do is say "Thanks, but no thanks."

Well he contacted me through bladeforums email option which shows his user name. I just can't find anything about his user name is the problem.

Does it? Email shows you his email name and sometimes a real name, but email names aren't always BF usernames.
