How do I? Search for "Threads Started" by folks that limit who sees their profile?

Title says it all.

Edit for clarification:
When someone limits who can see their profile, other folks that are not privy can not access it at all. In turn, this prevents someone from being able to search that user's Threads Started in the normal fashion. Is there another way to search for threads that these members have started?

Same question for banned members.

Good question. Curious of the answer. What about banned people?

These things were much easier with the old software. Perhaps some use of google?

I'm assuming both of you already know about the trick to just click on the link that displays a member's total post count, banned or not it'll still give you a search of that member's posts. Doesn't sort by threads, though.

I did indeed. Looked there first to see if there was a way to morph the search into threads started yet came up empty. And now here we are.:D

Thank you for sharing that for the people that may not know.

The title does not say it all. I don't understand what it is you are trying to do.

You can still search their member name in the built-in search engine. Just have to type it in correctly, because it won't automatically show the drop down list of members that match the name. HTH.

Sorry, I'll try to clarify.

I tried that and an advance search and it pulls up all their posts. I'm trying to narrow it down to just the threads started by them.

Yeah, without being able to click the threads under the "Post Areas" part of their profile, I don't know how else you can do that.

Yup.

For banned members and members who limit who can see their profile and you can search for their posts. But you cant get to their profile with the "Threads started" list.
Though you can find the threads they have started by looking though their posts. But it's a pain.

Just tell us which thread it is. Someone will know.

Right there's the rub. I recall the name of the original poster (who's profile is set to private or I'm ignored though I don't think that's the case) that prompted this thread, yet don't recall the name of the thread I'm thinking of or which forum it eventually resided in. Wanted to see if there was a quicker way than to search a 1,000 or so posts from the last year or two.

Do you remember the subject of the thread or key words? That might help get you to it quicker.

The subject yes, but not what it was titled. There is also a good chance that the thread title was changed by the OP or a mod at one point.

Seems like I'll have to bite it and take the long road.
