search function wont work?

so i had a heck of a time finding the search bar in this forum, i finally found one on the main page but when i try to search it tells me i dont have permission which makes no sense... also is there another more convenient way to search that i am totally missing? cause navigating back to that page every time you want to search seems odd, normally there is a bar on each page or something

Up your enjoyment and support the forums, until you become a paying member the function is off. BUT, I use this one all the time.
