Ever couple of month I think I have found the ultimate survival knife.last month it was a Ontario Rat TAK which is a fine knife.( why do I keep looking ?) Just recieved a Bark River Bravo-1 .I 'm definetly not Bark River groupy but this knife is the BOMB.My biggest complaint with Bark River knives is a lot don't have a guard.I have approx. 75 fixed blade knives and if the Bravo-1 was the only knife I had I would not feel sorry for myself. Check it out.

Is that the sheath the Bravo-1 came with or did you get if made for you?
I just got a new Aurora with stag horn handles...great knife but very weak in the sheath department.

Ciao

I love the look of those Bravo-1 knives. Next on my list.

Hey do me a favor, use the hell out of it, take some picts and report back. I would like to hear some results from field tests. Thanks

The sad truth is...The search is never over !!! Nice knife though !!!!!

Nice knife. And you don't need the guard anyway, unless you plan to knife-duel with your survival knife. Or at least that's the way I see it - somehow we Scandinavians have managed a couple of thousands of years without using guards in our knives, and we've survived, along with our fingers. ;)

I have cut myself a couple of times with knives without guards.Once putting a Bark River Rogue in the sheath and another time picking up a knife in the dark and getting my hand to far down on the blade. Maybe i'M just a tard. I have 2 Helle and a J.Marttiini, no problems with them,There is a step between the blade and the handle. It's just knifes like the Bark River North Star that scare me.Bark River makes GREAT knives there just some thats are not for me

Another vote for the bravo1. I just got one with orange handles and I have matching firesteel on the way.........

You got that right man, the Bravo is one sweet little knife. I'm looking into a leather sheath for mine though, I'm not liking how high the kydex one rides. But that's just a personal thing. Oh yeah and the matching steel is the shizzy :D

Beautiful knife and it rides high and tight, just like I like em to ride. Birthday is coming.........:D

Awesome. I ordered one of these Saturday!! Lovinit!!!
