Search Makers and Sellers.

Turning off the search feature is rather silly to begin with. Add to this the fact that some members here pay a premium to sell and makers pay an even larger premium and yet we are unable to search and research their items. It is a disservice to to these premium members and severely limits their exposure.

Why are makers paying a premium to showcase their wares and yet most can't even see them?

Searching is very server intensive, and when searching was enabled for everyone, we'd regularly get "Server is too busy" errors which would deny access to everyone on the site.

As such, we've limited searching to people with paying memberships. The most inexpensive level of membership which allows searching is the Basic membership, which is only $10 a year, which translates out to 2.7 cents a day.

Without member support, this site would not be open. Even Consumer Reports will not allow you to access all of their content without paying for a membership.
