Search malfunction: "Post(s) by User" within a given thread

Searching for Posts By User within discrete threads does not yield accurate results.

(This specific Search function has been broken for a while; I've been waiting to see if it was resolved with ongoing upgrades, but as it is persisting I thought I'd bring it to light.)


Here's a simple example.

Thread: What's missing from your traditional collection?

I know I've posted in this thread, so search for my user name via Search This Thread -> Advanced Search...

On the resulting screen, i enter my user name and click Search Now:

Alas!

And yet, here's my post in the Searched thread:

There ya go.




I would love to own a Burt Foster Darkside, but am so tickled by my useful selection of small fixed blades that I doubt I will ever decide to justify its cost over and against the rest of my life and the needs therein.


Similarly, my selection will probably always be missing an Erickson. I have great respect for the man and his work, and continual awe at not only his skill in construction but his eye for the aesthetics of/within each piece.

Having just attempted to search the Traditional subforum for various others of my posts, I'm going to posit that the 'search user's posts by name' function is somehow broken more globally.

When searching the Traditional subforum for any post in which I mention Burt Foster, for example, the most recent results are from December 2015. As I added and posted about a Burt Foster knife earlier this year, 2016, I know the results are askew.

Using the Advanced Search feature for the entire forum results in threads in which my more recent posts (likely) appear, but as some of those threads are hundreds of pages long I'm back to wanting the feature listed in my first post, the ability to search for a specific user's posts (even mine!) in a given thread.

I think it goes even beyond that. Search just seems broken in general. Many times since the forum migration, I try to search for something I know was posted recently, and either the search turns up nothing, or the results are all 3-6 days old.

I think the search indexing is broken.
