I am just finishing up one of my Search & Rescue Models for a customer in Italy.

Specs:
Steel: 3/16" 1095
OAL: 9"
Blade: 4.5"
Handle: Silver Twill

The silver twill is crazy stuff, very 3D and "Blingy" if that is a real term.

Nice work Ryan, I like the "grayscale" theme.

'blingy' is a real term, and that is a cool knife. Very unique and very nice looking.
Although, with that being said; the knife looks like it was designed so you could really bare down on it. For that reason, I think the cutout at the thumb ramp might work at cross purposes to that attribute, what with the sharp corners all up in there. I think you should nix the cut out, and provide a nice fat platform for the thumb to push against by letting the scale go all the way up to the spine. Some fairly gentle grooving to provide a little additional traction there, and a little more further forward of the scales, might also be beneficial.

Very nice looking knife Ryan. You have a great way with handles and you nailed the hamon.

Thanks Ben, Lorien and Eric for the comments! I really appreciate you guys.

Lorien, I understand what you are saying and agree. I did the thumb "Cut Out" on one blade a year ago because I had some heavy jimping there and thought it would look nice. after that I stopped doing the cut out. This customer specifically asked for the stylized version. He has something to do with the design process of Maserati's. I didn't question why on this one Lorien... haha

LOL, fair enough! Can't argue with Maserati when it comes to design!

ps. the cutout DOES look very cool

That is a beauty, great job... silver twill looks cool but its very slick I find, much like CF. For a working knife, I like G-10 the best.
