When I perform a search on the "For Sale by individual" section, it will not bring up my listing ("For Sale" post). Is it suppose to function this way? If I do a search for my post on "Trade knives", it will list my post(trade). I just want to make sure my posts can be found with your search tool. I have a knife for sale, Burke rockstar. To find my original post, I must do it in my CP. Please help

Hm, you edited it into the post, right?

It's a new "For Sale" post. I have edited part of it since the original. I did edit out a Benchmade Lfti. It would find my post in a search for Lfti but not BURKE or ROCKSTAR. I cant figure it out.

It looks like it's from older than 2 weeks ago?

The for sale post for the Burke was started on 10/11/10. It has had replies as recent as today. The search does not pick it up. This hurts my listing dont you agree? Scott

Have you tried editing out the burkes and closing the thread, then starting a new one?

No I have not. Do you mean edit Burke out then make a new thread for just the Burke? Thanks for the help by the way.

Close the thread, repost it with quotations of the questions asked added in the OP. Put a note at the bottom that it's being reposted with my permission per this thread. DO NOT EDIT THE TITLE after it's been posted. We'll see if it shows up in searches.

I have a feeling this happened due to the search engine not registering the changes after you made the initial thread. I am able to find your thread by searching for your name, but not for the items in the title.

I tried reposting to no avail. I typed in new title with an additional knife, if that makes a difference?

I see you've edited the thread since posting, like I TOLD YOU SPECIFICALLY NOT TO DO. If you aren't going to follow instructions, I can't really troubleshoot.

So Sorry, You said Do not edit the title "AFTER" it is posted . I did not . I made a NEW title with an additional item added.

Yeah, you EDITED the TITLE making it NEW causing it NOT to WORK. Changing the title is EDITING it.

If you have time and the patience to do this over, I will try to follow your instructions. I didn't think I edited the title, I just made a new one. The Burke is SPF anyway. Thanks, Scott

I'm not getting into an argument with you if you can't understand that changing the thread title is editing it. You didn't create a new one, you changed the existing one.

At this point, my suggestion would be to wait until your ad is on page 4, then close it and repost it. Don't change, alter, modify, or otherwise screw with the title. See what happens. Problem solved.

Not sure. Best just to wait until your ad is on page 4 and make sure you don't have more than 4 in the first 4 pages.

Edit: as a matter of fact, instead of filling up the for sale forum with thread after thread, figure out what you want in your post, then don't edit the title. If you are going to remove something, just mark it sold.

Please tell me the proper way to close posts. The old OP for the Burke is on page 9 right now (11-4-10 @ 08:05am), The new one I made is on page 8, minus Burke in title (last post 11-5-10 @ 02:25pm). I believe I attempted closing the oldest one w/ the "thread tools", "close thread" button. Did I do that right? The second thread didn't come up with any search. Thats why I am so confused. Scott
