Hi
Im searching for a good higonokami I have a budget of 125 us dollars
My requirements:
High quality
Im a collector of cold weapons so I want the higonokami to be good looking and with a traditional look.
I want to know what material the blade is made of.

Im not a US resident so its very important that the website I'll order from will have a world wide shipping.
Thanks

Knife Center (a sponsor here I think) has several models.

Recently read the thread about these knives here on the forum so I decided to check them out. Ordered a couple of the cheap models (supposedly from the same older maker) to check out first before I decide to go for a nicer, more expensive one. They seem interesting. Kinda Opinel-ish maybe? Dunno. Never handled one.

I would say try to find a Higonokami from Hiroaki Ohta. He had a lower budget option named the 'FK line', but still all custom made with steels like D2, 1095 etc. Everything was done by him and it came in a leather slip as well. It was available on knifecenter but now I believe you'll have to shop around.

One issue many illustrate with the higonokami is that when gripping the handle for harder push cuts, it digs into your hand due to the thin brass or metal they used as as the one piece fold over handle. With Ohta-san's design, he uses nicely contoured different 'exotic woods.
