Hello, I am requesting some help locating this type of product, if it exists.

A fixed-blade hook knife used in emergency scenarios to cut lines or fabric. Holding an edge during use isn't super important, as the blade will never be used, except in an emergency. The #1 priority is corrosion resistance.

The application is: strapped to a vest or harness, which will be continuously exposed to ocean water while kitesurfing or windsurfing. So a sturdy sheath requiring a strong pull to expose it so it doesn't fall out with normal impacts of the water.

Is there a better steel out there than H-1 for corrosion resistance these days? Or strong fixed hook knife made in another material than steel?

Thanks for any pointers you can give.

I've had a Benchmade rescue hook 8 on my rafting PFD for probably 5-6 years at least. no signs of rust. I have it for emergency purposes ONLY, so the only thing the edge sees is an occasional 550 cord cut to check its sharpness. I would give the device two thumbs up.

Thanks for the pointer! I found them on sale for $15 each, so I bought a few and will try them out to see how long they last in the salt water.
