searching for sword smiths to make Chinese Gim/Jian

Hi folks, the title says it all. it's hard to find someone who can make a functional Chinese 2 edge sword known as a gim/jian. many times they are mistakenly refereed to as a tai chi sword.

I know of one dude who can do it that i trust Howard Clark. Yet, i want to find other folks who also do this so i can have options and see what is available.

Also price is a consideration, i can't pay 10,000+ for a sword, so approx 2,000 is my limit.

Yes, i do play & teach Taijiquan, but i have not learned the sword form yet. i kept telling my teachers no i do not want to learn it yet; and that i would wait until my kung fu(skill) was better before i learned the sword. knowing that once my body mechanics were true to the style learning our sword form or any sword form would be fairly simple.

yes, i hold myself to a different standard then many who deal with Taijiquan as just another hobby.

I have done online searches in the past, and found some makers that i wanted to deal with in the future. now, that i am ready i can not find them lol.

Does anyone know if Paul Chen takes custom orders? i don't want a mass produced sword i want one that suits me and i'd like it to be traditional in so far as how the blade sharpness varies in 2 sections of the blade.

from what i understand from the tip of the balde that top 1/3 should be razor sharp, the next section of the blade should be very sharp, but more able to deal with tougher cuts like taking an arm off for instance. the last third closest to the guard is not that sharp & is used mainly to ward off blows form other swords/weapons when engaged in close in fighting.

ok so there you have it. please chime with names of smiths/makers that can get her done. thank you folks in advance for any help with this issue. peace & Namaste
