I just received this Sears Craftsman stockman and know it was made by either Schrade or Camillus but which one? Anybody know?
BTW...this workhorse sharpens up great.
It's stainless and the model is 9500, made in the USA, probably early 1970's.
There's an etching on the main blade that reads Craftsman Premium.

Thanks.....Bruno

Made by Schrade.:)

Whichever made it musta made the Buck 301 too! Does it have pins in the bolster (Camillus) or none (Swinden key construction by Schrade). OH

I checked all 4 bolsters and I can't see any pins so it's probably a Swinden design.

The tell-tale serpentine frame gives it away. So does they way the swedge is cut on the clip blade, it starts halfway down above the long pull. I would say it's Schrade as well. Camillus frame shape was not as "S" shaped, and they did their swedge differently. Probably mid to late 70's. An older 8OT pattern would have a matchstrike nick. Here's one very similar, with a brass shield and pins. Duncan from NZ has this one now...
