Folks the generosity of the porch runs deep.

In a thread in search a good walking woods knife Pinnah posted his thoughts on the Schrade H-15. I quickly posted that I was on the hunt for one. Well that hunt did not last long. Kevin (seas165) sent me a pm.

I read the pm at work and was taken back by his offer. He simply stated that doesn't post much, but reads everyday and he would like to gift a H-15 to me. It's a crazy feeling to have a complete stranger offer such a gift. It certainly is humbling. I thought about it all day and realized I really enjoyed gifting knives to folks and hated it when they fought or rejected me. So, I accepted. It was not hard to accept, I really wanted the knife. :D:D

Kevin, thank you good sir. There is just something about holding an older Schrade in your hand that makes you feel good. I look forward to using this beauty. The Buck sheath works perfectly by the way.

Fantastic!! I love the knife, and I love the gesture. I know what you mean about the old Schrades, Brett. There's something about them that really speaks to me, more than most older knives even.

Love the patina and the stacked grip!

Also, notice you're from TN. Which part of the great state?

That's a wonderful knife Brett! The members here sure are a swell bunch!

Like you, after seeing pinnah's post I had to go straight to "that auction site" to browse the h15s. I'm sure I'll be picking one up soon. So far all my fixed blades are ~4". The Schrade looks like it would be a great knife when you need something a bit more substantial.

the porch really is a special place, im glad i had a chance to give something back.

and your welcome Brett, thank you for accepting it and im happy you like it

Brett, there's none more deserving, your educated posts are always kind and respectful, your pictures of knives and family are always a highlight here on the porch. Enjoy that great fixed blade. I have the very same knife from my childhood and actually was reunited with it two years ago. Mine has Red versus Brown plastic at the hilt and pummel:thumbup:

Kevin, a very kind gesture, good on you, I say karma out, karma in;)
