As my descent into knife buying madness continues, I'm glad that knife buying doesn't have achievements like games distributed on the steam platform do. You know, where your friends can look and see that you "Tenner: got a character to level 10", "By the hairs on your chinny chin chin: won a battle with one hit point remaining" and "Rat master: defeated the rat king" or whatever.

Otherwise it would be easy to see what level of madness each of us had attained. Like, hey Bob, I see you unlocked "The repeater: bought the same knife twice" and then a month later unlocked "Third time is the charm: bought the same knife thrice".

If we did have a system like that, though, I'm pretty sure I'd have just unlocked some kind of seasonal knife achievement for buying this Halloween special version of the Olamic Swish, in orange and black and with a seasonal logo:

The coating they're using, listed as "2400 Series GunKote", feels really nice, incidentally, and Olamic remains one of my favorite knife companies to do business with. I mean, is there anyone easier to work with than Eugene? That guy is great.

So now I've bought a Halloween knife, but at least I haven't bought any Star Wars or zombie themed knives, so I've got that going for me, I guess.

Oof. That is a beauty! Congrats on your new toy evilgreg evilgreg .

No sense going partial madness, might as well dive right into the pool!

Budk and the big site with a river name has THIS

This one’s pretty “Halloweenish”.

I dig the Olamic.

I like that one. When I almost bought a Halloween edition knife from Olamic last year it was the same reason that I ended up pulling the trigger this year--I like the orange and black color scheme in general.

That is a beauty too AntDog AntDog !

I love orange scales. Black and orange are a great combo too.

Orange knives are piling up around my house. My beloved Bugout is rocking orange G10 scales these days, and my favorite version of the Manix 2 LW is the orange S90V one.

I like the way it looks and also I find it's a lot harder to misplace a blaze orange knife than a black one (but yes, F filtrum , it does make it harder to sneak up on sentries).

I only own a few orange handles : Rat 1s in D2, CS Ultimate Hunter, and Delica 4.

I wish I could buy more but I have self imposed a "2 knives need to go for every 1 knife that comes into the house" policy. I need to thin out my stuff.

I like the BM Grizzly Ridge orange/beige combo. I know BM have fallen out of favor with some people lately. I have been keeping an eye on the exchange for one.

One more Halloween themed shot, since I was out putting up some more Halloween decorations today:

Cool knife. Not really into orange. Star Wars though...

Someday I'll own those Star Wars Microtechs.

Current collection:

Many figures, original trilogy and Rogue one

Lego Tie Striker, Anakin's Delta 7 aethersprite, Yoda's green fighter, and a chicken walker from the Last Jedi.

Used to have a massive collection, but in a fit of anger my ex donated them to her friends special Ed school.

I also have transformers of course. And G.I Joe, M.A.S.K., and Voltron.

What can I say, I grew up in the 80's.

Three years ago I thinned my knife collection drastically. My ex loved to spend money we didn't have.

I'm up to 13 modern folders now, 1 OTF, 2 traditionals, and 2 fixed.

I do so much shopping, but very little buying. Someday I'll find and convince myself to buy a medium Tighe Rod from Brian.

OP, I get it.
Buy your first sprint Spyderco.
First super steel.
First mid tech, custom etc.
The list goes on.
