This is my first seax and I like how it turned out so I thought I'd share. The blade is 8 1/4" long, 1095 steel. The handle is kamagong and brass. Now I have to figure out how I'm going to do the sheath...:)

Wow again, that just kicks ass

:) I really like the brass and spacers is a great touch :)

I have always found the seax and scramasax blade profiles to be very appealing. You did a great job on this one.

Finding a re-creation or interpretation of a historical edged weapon that has the spirit or "feel" as well as the rough look of the original is tough. This looks "right " to me. Something a Thane or a Cniht (Knight) might carry, even a Jarl.

More to follow next week... After I get it :D

I am sure there are, and did not mean to say otherwise.

I meant to say that this item fits with my (as in personal) image of what a seax is. A complement to a maker, not a slap at ANY other individual maker. I am sure that others do great work, and hope to see them (not specifically limited to only seaxs, I like lots of pointy sharp things).

It's mine :-)
The quality is is at least as good as on my baby Bowie. The temper lines a a bit faint but look nice, and the sheath sure doesn't look like a first attempt. The attachment of the two "D" rings on it is well done.

A good price
