Here's a small seax-ish blade I put together.
Blade is 1/8" O1. Heat treatment in my back yard and oven. Patina by FC.
Handle is bigleaf maple with wrought iron butt and guard, leather spacers.
Inlays are Roosevelt elk bone. Inlays by the butt are Odin, dead Baldur, his poor blind brother Hodr, & Loki. Blind eyes of Odin & Hodr are inlaid bog oak.
Sheath is thick slabs of old leather , false sinew, more elk bone and wrought iron for the ornament. Sheath and wood colored by vinegaroon.
Overall length 9.75", blade 5.25".

I like that it looks rustic, but if you look close clearly a lot of work went into it. Great work.

Thanks everyone

I love the inlays.... and a lot of other cool details.

I'm really glad to hear that, Scott, I have some of your saexes bookmarked and referred back to those pictures when trying to decide on lines and such for this project.
