There is a new listing of a Seb 25 on eBay. Is this legit? If not, please don't list why...

"Chris Reeve Knife ~ Large Sebenza Folder ~ NIB"

I don't believe that the 25 has a recessed pivot bolt. Also, I've never had a birth card that was all handwritten and didn't have some part printed out like the blade steel.

There are some other things that look off to me. There are more pics on the site.

I sent the link to CRK...

Another pic from the listing:

Looks fake. This is is what a real one looks like.

*edit...I just read your original post to not identify why.

Card is copied as well. Most coming out now have the white water marks (or at least that's what they look like) that would show. My early 2013 that I just sold had them as well as all the rest. None have recessed pivot screw heads and as 1shot1kill states on the thumb stud. It's doesn't even rate a good fake.

Just on ebay and didn't see it. He may have been told he had a fake.

They didn't even do a very good job on the bday card.
It's wrong on many levels.

Unfortunately, Ebay has a very poor track record when it comes to doing something about these counterfeits. Hopefully everyone who notices a fake on Ebay will take the one minute to report the listing. If we all do that, hopefully Ebay will take notice and we can make a difference.

I will report every one of these listings that I come across.

No way. I could come up with a better card on powerpoint. That alone is a red flag, they didn't even use the right words.

Let me look in my pocket and run my eyes over the real McCoy....Ok yes it looks to be a fake and the Card is a photo copy. Now run and don't look back!

Definitely not real. Sorry but I think it's important to other members to point out some things that aren't real about it like the recessed screws, different shape of the thumb stud and the fact that it's bright blue and looks painted rather than anodized, and the crappy uneven grind and plunge. Seems like more ebay listings are fake than real..

I'm with dkblade. I've personally emailed 3 different sellers, two of which were pawn shops with 100% ratings, that honestly had no clue. One was a Seb 21 Seagrass CGG that had a copied card stating it was a 25. The sellers pulled the item immediately.

So far the fakes I saw seem pretty ovious but I'm sure there are better ones out there. That's a shame

Update: I eBay mailed him this morning and told him he had a fake and that he needed to contact CRK. A few hours later he shot back with "What do you mean?" I answered by pointing out the obvious issues with the knife and the card. I then told him it was his rating that would take the hit and that this one would come back to bite him. He obviously checked out what I told him because it took several hours for him to decide to pull it. But pull it he did!

Excellent! He ended the item. Thanks GW! (It sucks if he takes a loss on something he thought was legit.)
