I know the Hole has a patent on it from Spyderco but would you prefer a hole in the Seb. blade or do you like the stud?

ON the Sebenza I prefer the stud, it would alter the balde profile too muc to have a hole.

If you like the opening hole and are a Sebbie fan, check out the benchmade 635 Mini-skirmish, or if you like XXL knives, the 630 Skirmish.

They open wicked fast and cut well. Not CRK precision, but for a hard use knife they are very good.

I really, really, dislike the stud on the Sebenza.

but then, I have problems opening most studs. So I get knives with holes and I like flippers best.

I'd be interested to see what a Sebenza with a Spyderhole is like. Seeing how Spyderco is my favorite company I wouldn't mind seeing one of their inventions on one of my favorite knives...

im not a massive fan of the Seb studs, if they were fatter (more like the ZT0300 size) it would be better for me but a Spydie hole would be interesting for sure

taken out of context, that sounds very wrong. :p

i like the thumbstud better than the spydiehole, but i would prefer a disc over either.

+1 on the disc. Don't like the holes 'cause they make the blade wider and take up more room in the pocket.

I have a sebbie with an oval hole and it is hardly any wider than my regular blade. Works better than a stud, for me anyway !!

I like holes, slots, just a little better than studs, but for a slim blade like the Seb a stud is the only way to go. There is not enough room.
IF, IF they ever do a slot, the blade would be re-designed (wider) and the blade would have to park HIGHER in the handle than is presently located. This all so you can get your thumb in there. It would no longer be a Sebenza!!

Here is a pic of it. It was done by Reese Weiland and it actually is not much wider than a regular sebbie blade. If you will search on this same CRK knives forum thread I do have another photo but as it is already uploaded there I cna't do it here anymore for some reason.Compared to the original, it is only actually about 1 mm wider. The only improvement is the groove on the thumbhole and another that is not shown as it was done after the photo which really helped the grip. That is an S90V blade also ! I would also add I have both stud and the hole and really have no problems with the hole. I just am more inclined on the hole!

I personally find a hole "slightly" easier to open then a stud. However I find all holes, the round spyderholes and other shapes by other companies to be very ugly. I dont like large chunks of steel cut out of my knife blade no matter how functional it may be.

Long story short - stud
