Seb lock stickier by the day

So I finally got myself a large regular Sebenza. Great knife and all but I have an issue with it. The lock is very sticky and I often have to change my grip on the knife to disengage the lock. I've taken the knife apart and cleaned it but it keeps getting stickier. Any suggestions?
Thanks! :)

this is very abnormal for a sebenza. Try the graphite trick but if in a few days it is not gone; send it in.

Try rubbing a little graphite (pencil) on the tip of the locking bar.

I hear it's quite common on the regulars. I tried the graphite and even tried the sharpie trick already and it doesn't really help much.

I've had the same problem on a few Regulars.
I sent you a PM.

Thanks for the PM! I'll give it a try tommorrow and post back on results.

I noticed that Regulars tend to have much earlier lockups than 21s and Classics. Maybe that has something to do with the stickiness of Regulars in general. Hopefully you didnt end up bending out the lockbar, or worse, sanded something down :p.

I've had more than 12 Regulars to date, both Large and Small, and nearly all of them had this problem. I am comfortable, skill wise, with what I did to remedy it. I have also sent a few of them to CRK for other reasons, spa etc. None of them were kicked back due to the warranty being voided.
It's no secret, I offered up my fix via PM because opinions run strong and I didn't want to be in the middle of a 'right/wrong' argument.

I would send it in to CR.

Easy when you're in the states. Insured shipping both ways together would cost me about $70. If I can fix it myself, I'd much rather do that first.

I wouldn't worry about the shipping costs. If there is a problem with your seb send it in man. What will it cost if you screw something up and void the warranty, then you will be spending a lot more.

could you send me the pm explaining the remedy of the sticky lock bar for the regular, im quite curious.

Peppercorn's method isn't that drastic. You're not going to screw something up and ruin your Sebenza.

My regular has a slightly early lock up and sticks a bit. Feels like the lockbar is stiffer than usual. Whats weird is when the pivot screw is loose the lockup moves over to about
65% and disengages easier. It still fucntions great but it is noticeable.
