This is the first pancake style sheath that I have ever made. I finished it up about an hour ago. I made it for my Large Lefty Sebenza. It is 6-7 oz. leather dyed dark brown to match my belt. I cut the slots using a hole punch and very steady hands with a utlilty knife. It is very secure in the sheath and gets tighter when the knife is worn on the belt but it is still easy to remove. Let me know what you think. :)

Nice work Ken, very nice ! Does the clip pose any problems, either drawing or sheathing the Sebbie? I carry mine in a vertical with lizard inlay done for me Leatherman, but took the clip off.
Have you seen the Sheath Gallery over on CKD? Lots of good ideas for sheath making there.

Mike,

Thanks for the nice comments. The knife poses no trouble at all when drawing or resheathing. I made this one as a "high ride". The knife sticks up about 1 1/2" above the belt. I plan on making a "low ride" sheath in the next week or two. The clip is not a problem at all, in fact it actually makes the knife more secure and "locks" the knife in place.

I gotta check out CKD. I haven't been there in a long while.

Ken, Just read the story on Dennis Hammond and the Dog Tag Project. Jesus, when I think of the times I complained about the Mickey Mouse Sh*t at Ft. Bragg in 1970 and what Dennis was going through, it kind makes me feel ashamed. Thanks for reminding us all about those who paid the ultimate price and stood tall while doing it. Oh yea, I like the sheath too. Ed C

Wow! I saw a sheath just like that in the restaurant the other day. (Nice work, man.)
