for some reason... I tossed it up in the air about 3ft.... diddnt notice IT OPENED... caught it... that's strange... that's SHARP... what the... OUCH! Sliced into the tip of my middle finger like a really deep paper cut... damn.

I'll bet you won't do that again!

;)

Kind of like the dog training its master...

:D

When you can remove the Sebenza from my finger before the blood hits the floor...then it is time for you to leave Grasshopper... ;)

What the heck was it doing in the air? besides falling...:)

My father used to protect his rifle like it was pricless when we would go hunting. He would let himself get scratched and poked by branches and thorns before the rifle would. When I was younger, I never understood this, as everyone else would use their rifle to protect themselves. Finally, I asked him why he did this. His reply was short but meaningful, "I'll heal, the rifle won't!"
Now that I am older, I understand his logic. :)

With that being said, you'll heal, hows the Sebenza?:D

nice, junkyard... I've thought the very same thing! Sebs good.. Actulally the worst drop was when it was about a week old... I was rolling it around in my hand while hiking... somwhow dropped it down the path about 4-5ft. It put a nice gash RIGHT on the CR logo. oh well. In this weeks episode the finger would just HAVE to be on my pickin' hand... It's one of those strange cuts that feels like there.s a piece of glass in there... I reckon that it;s from the hardened skin stretching with use... ouch. ouch. oooh.

All kidding aside, I'm glad to hear that you didn't get injured seriously. Although those cuts can be very annoying and painful. I should know, as I have had similar incidents where I have cut myself.

Take care and stay safe,

Jason

I tossed an AFCK to a buddy of mine to see and it opened partially mid air, stuck him with the tip about half inch deep. I don't toss liner locks of any type any more.

The Sebenza WILL heal, just return it for a refurb!

Tossing a knife ain't a good idea at the best of time, would you throw a loaded and cocked pistol at/to someone?

A knife, unlike a gun is always locked and always cocked! Even a folder like the Sebi (NOT a liner lock) can open if thrown. It is all about friction and forces applied.

If I bash into something in work on my pocket side, my Sebi sometimes opens about 1 inch in my pocket. Hey, thats life, I'm clumsy and it does not otherwise happen. Perhaps if I ran very hard? Not a common thing though, so I don't worry about it.:)

Oh, I also keep my Benza VERY well lubed, so it is slippery smooth. No other knife I own is like this, that won't help...:p

I didn't have mine for a half hour, before I got cut.

I poked it into my right hand front pocket, hinge down, as I drove away from the knife store. Ouch. The blade had mysteriously opened a little. As I finished pokeing the knife deeper into my pocket, I thought, "hey, why is it so pointy?" I pulled my thumb out, and it was blooded.

I said a bad word (or two) and wiped my bloody thumb onto the piece of paper I had written my driving directions on( to the knife store). I immediately worried that I had mistreated the knife! When the blood flow slowed down, I picked the knife out of my pocket, wiped my blood off the tip, and checked it for damage!

Thumbs will heal(if not amputated), knives don't.

It is an excellent, small Sebenza. I now have more respect for it.

Cheers
