did any one ever notice that the lock-pin on there 21's changes the lock up when removed! I was just wondering about this because both my large 21's where made early in 2017 and I herd they where going to use a harder steel on the lock pins! as don't remember if it was 21's or the newer 31's, just thought I would ask the question hear, thank you.

Yes. On one of mine it's much more apparent and I sometimes actually have to turn the lock pin collar when reassembling to get the desired lockup. Perhaps I flicked that one open a few too many times.

The 21 uses a titanium collar (or maybe it's just stainless. either way it's not magnetic) that slips over one of CRK's standard female body pins. The 31 has a hardened steel stop pin with double female ends. You can actually leave it fixed in place on the lock scale when disassembling. There is no body pin used for the stop pin like on the 21.

Of interesting note I've noticed my Knife Art carbon fiber 21 has a small flange around one end of the stop pin collar that the titanium scale ones don't have.

Tim Reeve does a tear down video of the 31 and upon reassembling, he states to look for the mark that the tang leaves on the lock pin and try and face that forward each time, like an index mark.

Also, correct, the 31 has the hardened stop pin.
