Greetings. Disassembled, cleaned, and reassembled an S21 for the first time last night. New skill acquisition attempt went well except that: had some significant blade wobble (side/side when unlocked), upon opening/closing. I followed the text/photos on this site, pretty close - I think. After giving it (and me), some rest, tried it again this morning. Works great now, no wobble at all.

Only thing I (think), I did differently was to reverse the sides that the short, and longer, tubular screws fitted into the handles. So, my question is: does the side that those screws enter matter to the proper fitting. Last night's assembly was with the short screws fitted into back,(clip) side. This morning, the "tubes" went in that side.

Or did everything just fall into place correctly during this morning's assembly? Thanks in advance for your thoughtful replies...;-)

It sounds like your washers may not be seated properly. Disassemble again and see what happens. I usually put the handle together and then slide the blade/bushing/washers in from the end. The grease helps hold the washers in place. A small wood wedge keeps the lockbar out of the way until I get the pivot screw in place.

Edit: I guess I read your post way to fast. On the Sebenza the screws can be put in either way. Some people like the look of the "backwards" assembly.

Thanks Paul. Good to confirm the screw direction. Will pass this on to my friend Tuica. Spoke last night, and he was sure there was total flexibility in the screw sides...Cheers.

Thanks for the call, V'man! Perhaps I did have unseated washers. Slathered more grease under them when reassembling this morning, and it all went together as Mr. Reeve intended. Lessons learned, and all that. Talk to you soon...;-)
