hey

I am not an expert on old Sebenza, are there any Sebenza 21 without Idaho made engraving?
what period do they date back to? I found a used one but I'm not sure it's authentic.

thank you for your replies

There was a period when they weren’t stamped. I don’t recall dates though. I’m sure somebody else knows. Can you post photos?

I have the opportunity to see it in person before releasing money, I wanted to understand if there was something to know about the production period or other details that help me understand if it is authentic

I believe the "Idaho Made" began sometime in 2010... I have a couple earlier ones without, a 2010 without, and a 2011 with. These will all show date codes inside the scales. Hope that helps give a ballpark for you.

My “no Idaho” stamp has scales that are marked B08 and C08 (2nd and 3rd quarter of 2008).

Mine was built in 2009.
Look on the inside of the slabs for the dates stamped into the slabs. It looks legit from the pics.

ok guys thanks everyone, it seems to have all the documentation it should be easier to identify it, I will check engravings inside the folders for sure, as I told you I will have the possibility to see it and check everything before releasing money. tomorrow if all goes well I should see it, I'll let you know.;)

Keep in mind that the date codes in the scales can be different from each other and may not match the birthcard even as a lot of handle scales are manufactured, then built into knives later.

You will also be able to tell the blade steel when apart-there will be a S stamp(S30V) by the pivot hole or V stamp(S35VN). It is most likely S30V, but I have had both.
or was it the other way around? :)- S30V in Idaho made. I can't remember, but check it anyway

That could be a great piece. No holes on the backside of the pins, solid washers and no stamp. Hopefully the action feels great in the hand.

I have spoken to the seller by phone and he seems to be an honest person. He told me it is a 2010 in s30v polished blade very good condition.
tomorrow we meet, if it will be as he says in excellent condition, for the amount he asks for (250 €), I think I'll take it.:D

awarded! ;)I met with the seller and everything was regular and at that price you couldn't leave. there is some routine maintenance to be done, general cleaning and re-sharpening. it has been used well and the action feels pretty smooth to me as per CRK practice. in the evening I will post some photos
