Sebenza 25 clip pressure / gap?

From the Sebenza FAQ: "... the clip is designed and installed so that there is no pressure against the blade. When the blade is closed the clip should barely touch the handle and when the blade is open, there should be a small gap between the clip and the handle."

On my new Sebenza 25 carbon fiber, this is not the case. When the knife is open, the clip is pressing firmly against the handle.

Has the design changed, or is my knife in need of adjustment?

Is it causing problems? If not, I'd leave it alone. If it is, you can bend it back a bit to relieve the pressure. If you bend it too far, just loosen the screw, turn it around backwards (pointing straight out the back of the knife), tighten the screw, and bend the other way.

Fair warning: Go slow. if you are too aggressive when bending the clip, it can easily snap and break.

I do find the knife harder to open than I would like -- similar to the experience of the poster in the FAQ.

Eek! I think I'll leave any needed adjustments to CRK.

Ah, give it a shot before you send it in. A new clip will take 1/4 of the time to get than the turn around time on the knife; and the shipping of the knife will cost more than a new clip..

Baught my Insingo in 2010. Similar to your related to the clip. Has yet to cause an issue so I do not see it as an issue. If it bothers you. Then contact CRK. For me, don't sweat the small stuff.

If you use the clip for carry, you may want to leave it tight, so it won't be missing in action one day and save yourself a mild heart attack.
The pressure from the clip is not effecting the lock bar tension. The knife will get smoother with use. I've adjusted the pivot on one of mine to get it to open smoothly.
The clips are cold bent, so making an adjustment will not hurt it.

I personally would not adjust... Actually I am for the clip maintaining contact. I have bent/adjusted clips to keep them in contact with the lock bar when open so a "twang" and vibration is avoided. Just feels more solid with no vibration.
