Just curious about the ceramic ball causing a small dent on the lock face? Don't remember seeing this on my umnumzaan.

Im pretty sure it's normal. I'm not too savvy when it comes to all the geometry of a lock face etc..but I've seen others ask the same question. Both my Umnums and 25 have it. Might want to ask CRK though to make sure

It's normal. Mine look's the same way, still func:thumbup:tion's and locks up like day one

Mine is the same. Question Hugh to those of you with 25's. does your 25 have any vertical blade play?

Mine looks similar as well.

My 25 has no play in any direction. I mean none. At all. It is unbelievably solid.

I'm not sure if anyone mentiond this yet, but that is totally normal. :p The cramic ball is harder than the blade tang so something has to give and that something is the blade tang. The contact area is much smaller being that the meeting points are a cramic sphere on a flat steel surface rather than two flat surfaces meeting as we see on regular frame locks. I suppose one could assume the tang area with eventually work/strain harden with time so it's not going to wear out any time soon. The lock on my Umnumzaan hasn't budged for a couple of years now with literal every day carry and use. :)

Gangster. Thanks folks, just curious is all. Love the innovation mr Reeve brings to the knife industry.

Everybody covered it already and I agree.
I've carried an Umnum for years and it has it, no problems so far and I highly doubt that there ever will be. My other umnum's also have it as well as my 25- it's no big deal, use it without worry :)
