Hey guys,
I received my Sebenza 25 Micarta a little over a week ago. I love the micarta, and this issue isn't about that.
When I received the knife, the blade was pretty smooth out of the box, but had very noticeable side to side play. I tightened the pivot to remove the play, but this made the blade very very stiff moving. I actually left it like that thinking it would break in. After two days like that, I had enough and backed the pivot off. This brought the blade play back, but I could actually open the knife now.
I tore the knife down, cleaned, lubed and put it back together. I didn't notice any change from before I did it. However, I did notice that when I don't tighten the stop pin screws completely down, that the blade play is no longer there. So its like the stop pin might be too small, and when I tighten the screws down, the frame flexes just a bit and allows for blade play. This is just a guess though.
CRK was emailed first, but I have not heard anything yet.
Anyone have any insight in to this?
