Sebenza 25 Micarta vs Sebenza 21 Micarta which is better and why? Or Both?

I just got in a 21 double lug micarta and im expecting a 25 micarta.

I want to tell myself that i should only keep one. (Between these)

I had a 21 micarta a few years back and it was a favorite edc.

Always missed her and now shes back and im gonna keep her for sure. I am, really. Hehe

But I like the 25 and the solid feel. Its just a bit heavier in plain than I like. I know the 25 micarta will be a tad lighter in the hand like .5 oz compared to full titanium 25, and only .4 oz more than the 21 micarta.

But the sebenza 25 is a totally different knife. It is a hard use folder imho. And I love it for that. So i can only carry one when im working or edc, and I guess the question is do I want to carry a 25 or a 21?

Decisions, decisions. Wanted to hear your thoughts for those of you who have handled both at the same time.

Like you, I have a Large 21 Micarta Double Lug but I can't help you with the comparison to the 25 Micarta since I've never owned one. I have played with an all ti 25 a lot as my brother owns one. The 25 Micarta however, is my next CRK purchase so I am very interested in the opinions on this as well.

What I can say though is while the 25 is a bit beefier, the 21 is by no means a slouch or a light duty folder. I work in the powerline industry and use the 21 from skinning large wires to breaking down boxes and everything in between. The 21 has never even come close to letting me down. The 25 does feel more stout than the 21 and really is a different animal which is why I want one in Micarta and why I firmly think you should keep both:D.

The little extra weight of the titanium does not bother me. In fact, I prefer the extra solid feel the titanium delivers. Also, I have heard the carbon fiber tends to want to be a bit off center, favoring the cf side. Someone else will have to chime in on this as I sold my cf 21 when it was NIB and didn't experience that at all.

I am looking to pick up one of each in the future so I've been kind of going through something similar although for me it's more a matter of which one to pick up first. I'm leaning towards the 21 but may go with the the 25 when it comes time to purchase it.
I don't have a favorite as such and enjoy each of my plain versions.

I haven't ever gotten inlaid Sebenzas, but I currently carry a 25 and large 21 Wilson Combat Sebenzas. I like hem because they are JUST close enough that they are two different flavors of the same knife. If I want a heavier click in the lockbar, I carry the 25, if I want a lighter opening, I carry the 21. The capabilities are really the same IMO. I have only been carrying and using CRK since I joined BF (MAR last year), but I have always carried some large CRK variant or XM-18 since then.

So if you are like me, you will buy one, sell it to fund the other, save up more and buy both and then look for more variants.

I'm a fab of the 25, for a work knife, I prefer the 25 over the 21. But that's just me. The jimping is more aggressive on the 25, the blade is thicker on the 25, and I believe, don't know for sure, the hollow grind is a bit different. I like the fact that I can adjust the tension on the pivot with the 25 and I like the extra finger grooves on the handle. Don't get me wrong, I love the bushing system on the 21 and the lanyard position over the 25. The feelings go both ways. Both are excellent knives and IMO you really need both.

I vote both. I go back and forth as to which one is my favorite at the moment, but if I sold either I know I'd regret it someday. I'm not sure which one I could do without, there's way too much awesome in either iteration to choose.

THIS- thanks for the pics and the replies guys. After hearing your replies I do also realize they are 2 different knives. If I was doing "heavier work" or "fixed blade work" I would choose then 25 over the 21 just because it feels so solid in the hand. And the 25 does open smoother if you just use your thumbnail to flick the lug out. The 21 also does feel amazing in the hand and is solid but the 25 feels more solid. I guess im gonna have to keep both.

I just got in a 21 CF and I love it. Its so sleek and light, ferrari of folding knives do come to mind. Has anyone had experience with a CF 25? I am so curious about the CF 25. Being more stout and robust and so lightweight it must be something

I would keep both. I don't have a 25, but I've got two 21's and an Umnumzaan, which is apparently similar to the 25. Different knives, different features, all keepers for me. :)

I would keep both. I've had both for quite awhile now, and I'd never sell either.

The Micarta 25 is in my eyes one of the best-looking and stoutest folders money can buy. Solid, that.

The large Micarta 21 is to me like a perfect refined gentleman's knife and the straight handle on it is very comfortable. I've used neither for hard duty, but based on reviews here since the 21 is pretty robust I know the 25 would be also, even a little more I assume but I do not comment with certainty on things I do not know first-hand.

Luckily for me, my Micarta 21 is a lefty, and my Micarta 25 is a righty. So I get to carry them at different times.

I also have a lefty Micarta 25 and a lefty PE 25, both NIB, but I think I'm putting them on the Exchange this weekend because I never need them. I use the other two or my PE 25, which was my first CRK of all.

So good you are keeping both. Use the crap outta one, and you still have one for EDC or nicer-dressing occasions.

Since you have one and the other is on the way why not just try them out and keep the one you prefer? You might like them both equally but differently and end up keeping them both but you don't have to choose yet!

Thanks ernie I was thinking the same. The 25 and the 21 really are different knives after comparing the 2 in hand. I also agree the 25 is more a work knife and built like a tank. The 21 is also solid dont get me wrong its perfect. Just trying to validate them both in the rotation in the micarta figuration. I promised myself I was gonna keep 2 folders or 3 maximum and i have been breaking that promise haha
