Hi everyone having owned small sebenza for last 6 months as a first CRK knife and I can say nothing compares to it.I also sold all my other knives I had.Having said that Iam looking into getting bigger CRK Umnumzaan or upcoming sebenza 25.Kinda intrigued by possibility of small sebbie 25 but for now thinking beetwen those too.So any suggestions about umnumzaan or sebenza 25,which one you guys think should be better as a larger edc blade.Thanks.

It's hard to compare the two until the Sebenza 25 is officially released and in the hands of users.

i too ended up selling most of my other knives once i got a small sebenza. it seemed to satisfy my wants nicely.

I don't know but my Umnum should be here tomm:thumbup: But I do have a 25 ordered as well :D

I would go for the Umnumzaan now. You can carry and use it for at least 6 months before any 25's get into user hands and reviews are out. If at that time you decide you want to try it flip the umnumzaan and buy the 25. You'll probably lose $75 if you do and enjoy using the Umnumzaan in the meantime.

I have been using an umnumzaan as my edc for years now. Nothing I have held comes close to it. That said, I have a 25 on order, that I have NOT held... Int he meantime, I smell a tilock and a large micarta sebbie in my future

Hi, thats a truly hard choice to make.
i fondled the 25 at Blade and it was sweet in the hand, i can't wait to get one when the production models start shipping with regular prices. its a great size and seemed to be the regular CRK sturdy that you've come to expect from your small sebbie. is it the perfect knife, probably not, but even using it daily for an entire lifetime I'm sure that ill never wear it out. my main gripe with it is the lock using the same lock as the Umnumzaan, it just bugs me that it only rests on that small ceramic bearing instead of the entire face of the lock bar like it does on the Sebenza's. is this a problem? not even close! I've been carrying a Tanto Umnum for over a year and a half and have been none to kind to it, it's lock hasn't worn in at all and is still as strong as the day that my Wife gave it to me(the knife). its proven plenty strong through some very hard cutting and has become such a favored tool of mine that the only time that its out of my pocket other than when its being used is when i feel that a smaller knife is right for the day(5 or 6 times a year), which is when i carry Mr Reeve's other perfect creation-the small Insingo.

i only fondled the 25 for a little while but i can say that if the production model is as good as the first 25 are, and we all know that they will be, you really can't go wrong with either knife.
ill give the typical internet answer, if you can afford it, buy both!
i suggest getting the Umnum first since its available second hand for a decent deal almost daily, then after the hype wears down and people start to have stock or move their 25's jump on one for a few bucks off of retail.

happy shopping to ya!

Thanks everyone for answers Iam getting umnumzaan.....for now and then we will see about sebenza 25.
About the sebbie 25 is that mean that regular sebenza with washers is not gonna be made anymore just the one with ceramic ball lock?

I got my Umnum today and this thing is bad ass, I love the blade shape, I like how the ceramic ball is the detent and is what makes contact with the blade instead of softer ti (even though its carburized on my sebbies). Basically I love everything about it so its def a winner in my book. One more thing is your gonna end up with both eventually if your into CRK's its only a matter of time and a matter of which ones come first:D so my answer is BOTH

O h and by the way I've had zero problems opening and unlocking in fact I think it might be smoother than my Seb's were otb

You should definately try the Umnumzaan in the mean time. I carry one all the time now. I like it enough I have the StarTac from Wilson Combat coming tomorrow.

It's the Sebenza taken to the next step without any empty spaces.

So Umnumzaan must be a hell of a blade, you guys are making me pull the trigger now for umnumzaan.Wilson combat has beautifull startac knife its just must have blade.Well better check them out then.:)

I have an Umnumzaan, plus large and small Sebbies. They're all good, but get the Umnum for now. Once the 25 is out and about, you can always trade if you prefer the blade-shape of the newer model. Note that both blades are now 0.140" thick. The older Sebbies were (are) 0.125."
