Do you feel the extra width is a blessing or a curse over the 21? When it first came out, I wasn't too intrigued but now I am. I think it is the ball lock interface and the new blade grind that has me intrigued. I love my 21 insingo but, are the differences between the 21 and 25 very noticeable in hand/use? If it is noticeable, is that a good or bad thing??

I don't own a 25, but I say keep your 21 insingo and get a Zaan with the old pivot :D

I don't notice the new width either... except for in the blade itself. Even the weight difference goes unoticed unless I pick them up together and juggle them around.

I like my 25 a bit more than my 21. Which is a huge compliment because I LOVE my 21. The 25 just feels right in my hand. The scales are a bit more ergonomicly comfortable than my 21s scales. I like the added beef to the blade, scales, pivot, and the ceramic ball. I cant imagine anything kicking the 25 out of my pocket. Unless they are going to make a Starbenza 25.

I don't even notice the extra width, but I will go so far as to say that the Sebenza 25 is my favorite Sebenza ever made. It fits my hand like a glove and I find it to be more comfortable than my Large 21. I also, greatly prefer the blade shape on the 25 because it reminds me of the thicker belly on the Regular Sebenza. This knife is a real winner and a worthy successor in the legendary Sebenza blood line.

If anything the 25 feels more compact, yet stouter all at the same time. I don't mind the extra weight, it carries wonderfully for me! I love the grind and already new I loved the ceramic ball/interface so the 25 is all winner in my book. 25 is also my favorite CRK I've owned to date:thumbup:

I resonate what the others have said but great question to the OP. For me, the added width is a plus making the knife more round in the sense that the closer the dimensions the width and height are to each other, the more cylindrical the object is in hand. It does feel more ergonomical than the 21 which is why I sold the 21 even before I was lucky enough to score a 25. The ceramic lock-bar interface is superb to the original IMHO and a worthy upgrade. I agree this is the best Sebenza to date and would recommend picking one up if you can find one.

Must not dream about a Starbenza 25, must not dream about a Starbenza 25, must not dream about a Starbenza 25........:rolleyes:

Having owned 4 25's... I think it is CRK'S best work. The knife is a bit stiffer than another other CRK I have owned. I sold all mine to get them out to the knife nuts.. To me, the blade geometery is what seperates the 25 from the rest.. The handle is a toss up for me.

Hell, they are all great.. regular, classic, 21, 25, best folders on the planet..

It is like comparing which Bentley model is the best.. to me... who cares.. I am just grateful I can afford 2 things that are the best in the world.. CRK+ Harley Davidson..

I notice zero difference in the extra blade thickness. My fav thing about the 25 is the added overall stiffness. The added weight is acceptable but I do prefer lighter weight knives. The handle comfort is a toss up. I prefer the ergos on the 21 but the overall package that the 25 brings to the table makes it one helluva knife.

Archie - just wanted to put a shoutout in saying thanks for the YT vids. I always enjoy your insight and after watching your vids was the final straw in leading me to want to check out a 25.

I would only disagree with you on the blade thickness as I do notice the difference but only as it amounts to the overall weight. When it comes to cutting and slicing, the thing is a laser. Totally agree with the overall stiffness as it just seems like a fixed blade when that lock clicks shut. The weight I thought was going to bother me at first but because it is a Sebenza and retains that slip profile, it carries really well for its weight. That said, would I prefer a lighter 25? Yes, but it isn't a dealbreaker.

I also, greatly prefer the blade shape on the 25 because it reminds me of the thicker belly on the Regular Sebenza.

While I agree that every model is great, the 25 has pretty much cured my desire for a large Regular.
