hey fellow crk fanatics. looking to get my 21 a brother and wanted to try the ceramic lock. was going to get the umnumzaan when i saw my local shop just got in the 25's. from what i understand these have the same pivot, lock interface, blade thickness, and handle thickness. its always a tough choice when it comes to crk but which would you guys make and why? I know people are gonna say which ever i like more but i want solid arguements to make the best choice. thanks :D

Get the 25. The new grind is neat, it is very comfortable, and it feels amazingly sturdy.

If you don't like it, the short term resale will probably be better, since there are so few out there right now.

25 hands down.

You get plain ti scales, better washers, better blade grind, better ergos and better thumbstuds. In my opinion of course.

Also I have noticed that it feels more sturdy/solid.

hey thanks for your reply. yeah that new grind does look pretty genius, i like the thought behind it that chris said in his vid with bladehq about it keeping the edge thin as you sharpen...

the 25 is by far the best knife CRK put out at this point it removed my 21 and Zaan from my pocket!

I love the Umnumzaan but right now I would pick up that 25 there's not many out right now and the umnumzaan is easy to be had.

The 25 does feel stronger, there's also no lock bar flex when open like on the Umnum. Don't get me wrong, the Umnum is great, I carried one as my edc for years but the 25 is what finally dethroned it as my go to knife.
The new grind makes it cut better than a factory fresh Umnum when I compared the two. Both were crazy sharp, the 25 just cut a lot easier, the difference in my two examples( actually 4 cause I used three umnum's and two had factory edges ) was crazy. It really cut a lot better! It feels sturdier and is a great design.
The only downsides I find in the 25 when comparing it to the Umnum is that the edge starts further from your hand and for me the choils don't work with every grip, it's hard to explain, the choils are great and bothersome at the same time.

You really can't go wrong with either knife and I'm sure that you'll be happy with whichever one you choose.

I don't own a 25 so I can't comment on it's grind etc. But I can clearly see that you get more bang for your buck with the Zaan.

The Zaan has a lock bar stabilizer, glass breaker, and milled out handles, and the 25 doesn't. These extra features/steps add more cost for the knifemaker.

Appreciate all the replys. Think imma go head and get the 25. Lucky for me is when i buy it i get to handle the Prototype as well :D.... Looking forward to seeing how it carrys next to my 21. So far my 21 has been the champ.

Tough call as I have both a brand new Wilson Combat Umnum and a new 25. Very different knives for sure. Love them both. But as another has mentioned the Umnum is a lot easier to get ATM. If you can get your hands on the 25, then do it. If for whatever reason you don't connect with it then flipping it will be a breeze.

25. All the way. The Umnum is a great knife for lots of reasons, but the 25 is hands down more useful at any edc task thrown at it. Pick up an umnum later, after the 25.

Not a lock bar stabilizer, its an over travel stop. A lock bar stabilizer also prevents the lock bar from being squeezed inward toward the spine of the blade/handle. The one CR puts on the zaan does not do this. Its only there to prevent people from bending the spring outward. Hope that makes sense.

Hey guys just got my 25 will post pics later.... Its a sweet knife. The lock bar slides over with force due to the ball.... I was expecting it to have a thicker blade but it is a little thicker then my 21... All in all im really diggin it, its super comfy.. My shop has 4 sebenza 25's in stock. First four to email me asking get the name and number.

Congrats!
As I stated earlier I have three umnum's, 2 StarTacs and a Tanto, all are great knives and I like them a lot. Although the dimensions are very similar to the 25 they are very different knives. Although I carried my tanto for years as my edc blade if I had to choose between the two I'm fairly certain that I'd pick the 25 - it's about as close to perfect as you can get in a knife.
Although my opinion is worthless it is that you made a great choice, I hope that you enjoy that awesome knife for a very long time-now go buy an StarTac ;P

Haha i want too.. Im gonna go back next week to get a nyala to have with my 21 and 25... So far im digging the heft alot.. Sebenzas always have the perfect weight..

Excuse my poor attemp at art. This is a gorgeous knife.
