Hey everybody, So, I'm sure this subject has probably been covered but since I am fairly new to the forum and pretty much dummer than a rock when it comes to collecting CRK I thought I would pick the collective brains on the forum about what has become one of my favorite CRK folders. The 25. Yes the Sebenza 25 Chris Reeve's latest and from many respects his greatest achievement in the ever evolving world of high quality production folding (Pocket) knives. I started "Collecting" CRK very recently when I purchesed my first Umnumzaan. That was it!!
I have a very old friend that was addicted to heroin... I now know how he felt!! But I digress, I recently purchased a 25 at a reasonable price and I absolutely love this knife!! So of course when the opportunity arouse to purchase another what did I do? Of course I bought it!! Now I have discovered that they are slightly different oh no!! Not a variation!! So the first one I purchased has a Allen Head screw on both sides of the blade stop (5-13) and the second one I
purchased has the Allen Head screw only on the non-locking side.(1-13). So after taking the long way around the barn...What other variations of the 25 am I missing and why the change??
P.S. I know about the 25 Prototypes and know of four that ar currently available from dealers as well as the one that recently sold on this forum for $2000.00 if you have one for sell or maybe just want to Gifit it to me ;) "I'm your Huckleberry" Thanks for taking the time to read this extremely long post...

That's the only difference that I'm aware of.

Try searching "pressed stop pin". You should come up with some stuff. The truth is that we don't know exactly why they made the change. CRK has officially decided not to explain that one, and there are a few theories surrounding it.

The theory that I liked best is that they went to the threaded pin in order to facilitate refurbishment, and possibly to make the future inlay versions easier.

Personally I think the pressed pin knives will be sought after in the future. First they are the earliest ones and there probably aren't that many out there, and second, people have had an occasional problem with the threaded pin turning which is a problem since there is a clearance notch. If the notch turns the blade will clash with the pin.

Not a big deal. As far as I understand it a bit of loc-tite on one of the fasteners will keep it in place, but I wouldn't know for sure as I've got the pressed version.

Hey MP, thanks again for putting me on a 25 of my own. I have many titanium sided knives and the 25 is an ace. Thanks, Russ
