Ill preface this with I have owned numerous small and large Sebenza 21's and Inkosi's.

I just got my brand new Large Sebenza 31 today.
I quickly took it out of the box, admired it for a second and went to open it with the same confidence of any of my other CRK's. However it did not budge. I tried again and again with no luck. Once past the detent it is silky smooth. Now i have a super sore thumb.

Has anyone received their new 31 and noticed this as well when compared to their 21's. Every other one of my knives opened just fine out of the box with no adjustments needed.

Strong detent is one thing but if you can't budge the thing one handed, that's a whole other issue.
I read a thread earlier that referenced detent holes to deep that had to be sent back to CRK.

Having handled tons of the major name brands out there, some that if you put 20 of them side by side, all 20 have a different detent ( NOT CRK ), I will say for safety sake alone you want a medium hard to hard detent, especially when new. It will wear in smoothly and lessen. The bronze washers wearing in will smooth it out more than anything. You just got the knife today, give it time. I have owned 300+ sebenzas and can confidently say that CRK has the most consistent feeling folder out there by far.
