hey guys recently i have really been researching sebenza vs strider. I really like the sebenza but theres on thing the strider seems to be winning, and thats being a more hard use rough folder. Well i dont own a sebenza but i have a hunch that it can take a fair amount of wear and tear, Post pics of your used and abused sebenzas and if you could answer this question do, how well does your sebenza hold up against use and abuse that youve thrown at it.

I have many of both and CRK's knives hold up just fine.

Please give us your definition of hard use.

Exactly...

I have a Kreined SnG, and it's an equivalent slicer to any Seb, also a DGG SnG with a stock blade. These are my preferred knives... but to each, their own. The main reason for my own preference is that for me, Strider has a more comfortable handle and grip. But that's just my own opinion. The Sebenza has its own qualities and advantages. It's a great knife in its own right. Some might (rightfully) think it better for them, and I wouldn't disagree.

I'm sitting here reading this and I'm opening and closing two new knives, a PT and an Sng. but ya know wha? my most comfortable knife is a Large Regular Sebenza. I like the Striders a whole lot, but I carry and use my Sebenza all the time, and I'm a journeyman carpenter during the day. Wanna talk about hard use? I've whacked on 2/4's, rope, unjambed doors and windows, used the knife as a door stop and sometimes when I need a third had and need something pinned down, The Sebenza has always supported me. Yup, Striders are good, too. But don't tell me the Sebenza is "less". It's not. So, don't be starting no flame wars. They're both good. End of discussion.

thanks, thats just what i was looks for barry h. My definition of hard use for a sebenza would be things that you would normally use a differnt knife, maby a designated beater for whatever your doing at the time. I know many people including myself would not use a sebenza as a "beater knife" but im just curious to see. The strider is advertised as a hard use knife that some have described as a sharpened prybar, the sebenza on the chriss reeves website mainly is talked about from a design/function point of view.

No man, it's not the end of the discussion (yet). Reason is... I have to tell you, you've got a real serious reading comprehension problem. ;) You may have read what I wrote, but you surely didn't comprehend it. Read it again, (maybe slower this time). You can post an 'apology' later for completely misreading what was written. Now it's the end of discussion.

I think CRK beats Strider in quality. Both of my SnGs arrived flawed. They had major blade play and had to be sent in to get fixed, all my Sebs have locked up like vaults.

Comparing a strider to a sebenza is like comparing a muscle-bound bouncer to an MMA black belt - brute force to finesse.

Sure one's bigger, but the issue of who'd win a fight is unresolvable.

Actually, I was agreeing with you, I thought the original poster's comments were ready to start a comparison war between Strider and Reeve, We don't need that here.

Yes agreed, we don't need those 'which is better' debates here. And... If you wanted to stop a 'comparison war', you might've responded by quoting the OP's first two sentences, instead of the whole of my post. It appeared as if you were taking issue with me, rather than agreeing (as you say). But hey! No harm, no foul.
